Parent’s evenings

Parents evenings will be held on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th March – details to follow.

Reading Information Evening

We are intending to hold a reading information evening in the summer term. The intention is to inform parents how reading is taught in the school and to show the resources we use.  A provisional date for this event is Thursday 18th May. More details will follow.

Class assemblies

As a new venture this year we intend to hold class assemblies.  The first one will be Blue class on 9th February at 9.15a.m.  The children will be presenting aspects of their work.  All parents are invited to attend.  We still intend to hold sharing assemblies each half term with parents but where these clash with a class assembly, the house points and Head teacher’s award will form part of the class assembly.

Drop-in Sessions

Last year we held on open afternoon to provide an opportunity for parents to come into

school during the working day to see aspects of the school and the children’s work which are

not normally accessible.  The support for this event was a little disappointing and we are

introducing drop-in sessions as an alternative.

The intention is that each term the school will be open to parents and visitors from 2.30p.m.

on the appointed day. The visitors will be able to spend time in the classrooms where the

children will be on hand to show the visitors round and share their work with them. This is

not intended to be an opportunity to have discussions with the class teachers about your

child’s progress. If this is successful we hope to have it as a regular event. The first session

will be Friday 31st March at 2.30p.m.
